Who Should Subscribe

Potential Subscribers

Any organization that engages in the recruitment of foreign-educated health professionals (FEHPs) to the United States, directly or indirectly, should consider becoming an Alliance Subscriber. If your organization participates in any phase of the process, the Alliance welcomes your subscription and your commitment to implement the provisions of the Code that apply.

The Alliance is currently accepting Subscriber applications for participation in our Pilot Phase, which began in May 2010. All fees will be waived during the pilot.

Potential Subscriber organizations include:

  • Recruiting firms who contract with FEHPs in a source country to facilitate migration to the United States and placement in healthcare employment.
  • Staffing Agencies who recruit and employ FEHPs and assign them to healthcare organizations in the United States.
  • Hospitals, health systems and long-term care organizations who employ FEHPs (some recruit directly and others use recruiters or agencies).

Subscribers to the Code are expected to:

  • Establish administrative practices that ensure that they are in compliance;
  • Strive to achieve best practices;
  • Fully cooperate with the monitoring of FEHPs they recruit and/or employ; and
  • Participate in remediation processes should complaints against their company be filed and verified.

What are the Benefits of Subscribing to the Code?

Subscribers to the Code will:

  • Affirm their committment to use foreign recruitment practices that are ethical, responsible, and transparent;
  • Enhance their organization's image of professionalism, integrity, and credibility;
  • Serve as industry leaders by engaging in a process that allows for the prevention, reporting and monitoring of unethical conduct in international recruitment.
