NursesNow International Becomes Certified Subscriber

Washington, DC: August 16, 2011 - The Alliance is pleased to announce that NursesNow International (NNI) has become its newest Certified Subscriber.

NNI is a Mexican-based nurse staffing and nursing human resources capacity development company, is currently one of only three companies around the world who have received certification by the Alliance thus far, and the only Mexico-based company to have said designation. Mauricio Gojman, CEO, stated “We are thrilled to have passed the rigorous review of our administrative policies and business practices that receiving Alliance certification requires. We fully support the ethical international recruitment code passed by the World Health Organization that was ratified by member states in 2010, and feel that Alliance certification demonstrates that support.”

By receiving Certified Subscriber status, NNI has set itself apart by committing to the principals set forth in the Voluntary Code of Ethical Conduct for the Recruitment of Foreign-Educated Health Professionals to the United States (Code). These principals relate to three areas: 1) the rights of foreign-educated health professionals, 2) the health care needs of less developed nations, and 3) ensuring that foreign-educated health personnel are equipped to provide high quality and culturally competent care in the U.S. NNI has recruited Allison Squires, PhD, RN, a professor of nursing at New York University College of Nursing who specializes in researching nursing human resources in developing countries, to monitor NNI’s compliance with the Code in cooperation with the Alliance.
