Alliance Publishes Case Study #7

July 30, 2013 - Our newest case study summarizes the indictment of Kizzy Kalu, a businessman from Highlands Ranch, Colorado and owner of staffing agency, Foreign Healthcare Professionals Group (FHPG), who was found guilty of 89 counts of human trafficking, money laundering, mail fraud, and visa fraud in the U.S. District Court in Denver. Mr. Kalu partnered with fellow recruiter, Philip Langerman, to devise a scheme to recruit  foreign-educated nurses to the United States on H-1B visas to work as nurse instructors at Adam University, a school that existed in name only. Upon their arrival to the United States, the nurses received less than 50 percent of the salary they were originally promised, were forced to work in long-term care facilities, and received threats of deportation if they did not follow Mr. Kalu's instructions.
