Alliance Case Study #8: CATA v. Solis

August 23, 2013 - The CATA v. Solis case study summarizes the extensive litigation to eliminate the use of the 2008 prevailing wage rule that artifically depresses the wages of U.S. workers. The Comité de Apoyo a los Trabajadores Agrícolas (Farmworker Support Committee) (CATA), Piñeros y Campesinos Unidos del Noroeste (PCUN) (Northwest Treeplanters and Farmworkers United), the Alliance of Forest Workers and Harvesters, and Centro de los Derechos del Migrante, Inc., (CDM) first filed a complaint against Hilda Solis, the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on August 17, 2009.
